Kym MacKenzie

Kym Mackenzie is a life long theatre enthusiast, and his disability has not hindered his journey from being an extra with the Bedford Industry Players to a lifelong member of Southern Youth Ensemble to a key actor with No Strings Attached. Deep focus and ever-present joy define his work on the stage. Kym is a valued contributor to No Strings Attached's Men's Ensemble, a student in No Strings Attached's Preparing the Garden training program, and probably attends more live theatre every week than any other individual in Adelaide.

Kym joined No Strings Attached in 1999, to take on a key role in Retouched. In 2001, he toured to regional SA and the KickstART Festival in Vancouver with In Your Wildest Dreams. Other No Strings Attached productions include Hidden (2002) and Catching the Juice (2003). In 2005 and 2006, he created and performed Trapped with Alirio Zavarce, exploring a path from isolation to communication. Trapped will tour to Vanuatu in 2010.

In 2005, Kym was an extra in Alex Frayne's feature film Modern Love. In 2007 he played the central role in the short film Train Runner, and he had a supporting role in the film Work Ready (2008).

Kym has also been the member representative on the No Strings Attached Board of Management for many years.
